HSBC - Head of Digital Channels

Position: Head of Digital Channels 


Location: Malta


Reports to: Chief Digital Officer/Head of Retail Banking


Investinu Group has officially partnered with HSBC to support HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Ltd.


This role entails to lead the day to day management of the Digital team and also shape the development and execution of future strategy of digital channels to improve customer experience and revenue opportunities to the bank in line with Regulatory requirements.


In this role you will:


  • Overall owner of Direct channels for the retail business including Internet and Mobile Banking.
  • Responsible for setting the digital strategy for the retail bank including runway of functional development.
  • Developing and deploying new digital functionality either to existing functionality (Internet and Mobile) or across product/servicing journeys.
  • Commercialising the digital channel, driving take up and usage of digital channels and also increasing the volume of sales and servicing on-line.
  • Implement and communicate customer insight to support customer experience and growth strategy.
  • Holders of this role are expected to demonstrate a good understanding of key trends and areas of innovation which influence the way we interact and engage with our external customers, influence and collaborate with a diversified group of senior internal stake-holders and audiences. These should include digital, new technology, APIs, Automation, Customer Relationship Management, Agile working practices, data and analytical tools and how this helps HSBC to be more customer centric.


You should apply if you have:


  • Experience of driving commercial digital KPIs and developing Digital strategies in line with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Experience of sitting on a business leadership team and working in a matrix environment with the ability to develop relationships and influence at a local, regional and Group level.
  • Track record of leading and motivating a team & developing team members.
  • Qualification or external training in Digital Commerce/Digital Marketing would be beneficial.
  • Strong technical knowledge of digital marketing and digital marketing strategies.
  • Understanding of Bank’s products, services and the underlying processes would be considered an asset.
